Workshop Spanning Two Saturdays
Instructor Terry Buffington

empty bowls photo

Join us for two Saturday afternoons and help create dishes for our annual Empty Bowls event!

On the day of the event, Empty Bowls attendees will make a donation to select a handmade, unique bowl. Then they can enjoy a soup luncheon with an array of choices, all donated by local restaurants. All proceeds raised will go to the White County Food Pantry.

In this class, you will create a bowl to take home with you and another to donate to the event. The class is broken down into two sessions: one for shaping your bowl and another for glazing your bowl after it has been fired. You will have the opportunity to learn from local artists, all while supporting a great cause. All are welcome - no experience necessary!

Instructor George Van Hook

Join George, a nationally recognized artist who has won numerous Plein Air competitions and awards from around the country for his oils and watercolors, for a three day plein air workshop. George stresses allaprima painting and using a loose and fast approach to capture the landscape in the first try.

Participants will be meeting on location and painting all day from 9 to 4 with a lunch break. Workshop includes live demos and individual attention. Please bring your own plein air equipment, supports and media (oil, watercolor, acrylic). We will begin each day with a demo by the artist.
